Vickram Vivekananthan (he/him)

My name is Vickram Vivekananthan. I am currently a full-time university student majoring in biology.

My initial involvement with the Rising Sun Food Drive Foundation (RSFDF) began in 2021, starting with helping with food collection and sorting.

Over the years, I have been involved in various roles, from door-to-door canvassing to food drive supervision, and now as the Assistant Treasurer.

Through this journey, I have seen firsthand how something as simple as a can of soup or a bag of pasta can make a real difference in someone’s life.

Food insecurity does not always look the way people expect. It often affects individuals and
families quietly and is a challenge that persists across all seasons. That is why I have come to value this work so deeply, because even the smallest efforts can create lasting change in someone’s life.

It has been inspiring to watch RSFDF continue to grow, not just in the number of volunteers or
food collected but in the strength of its mission and the impact it has on the community. Knowing that food insecurity is still a daily reality for many only pushes me to work harder and stay committed to supporting this cause. I am proud to be part of an organization that continues to expand its reach while staying grounded in compassion and service.
